tourists of the day: teck, feiwen, lamley, cass and i.
photo heavy. other pictures are on my fb (=
what started out as a not so good day became awesome. and i really really thank God for answering my prayer about the weather.
waiting for a cab ar kranji = hell…
supposed to meet at 11am, reached the zoo at about 12.30pm.
had lunch at kfc!
1st photo in the camera. at which teck said “okay i’m done, don’t need to go into the zoo already”
outfit! wore my awesome fisherman hot pink boots out.
a false alligator. that’s the name uh.
saw a mouse deer! it’s neither a mouse nor a deer.
spotted a squirrel running around. cute!
took our time to look at the animals.. it was really humid in there. felt icky.
came to the otter pond next. (=
they were all playing and having fun and making ultra-cute noises when suddenly they all decided to group together and stare into blank space.
hopped over to the white tiger’s den. it was simply amazing. probably not the same tigers that mauled the zoo keeper but still… i loved how huge they looked, and how magnificent and powerful they were. huge paws and all. i would love to go near them and touch their fur! maybe another time. (=
okie 1 more pic of the white tiger… i just kept staring. it was walking back and forth in it’s ‘home’
pulled ourselves away and went to find the pigmy hippos.
trying to kiss the hippo’s ass :p
cut out board. pigmy vs a normal huge hippo. and vs teck.
continued walking and we came to the australian outback.
(his aim was to take pictures with all the 3d figures he could find)
fun fact: if kangaroos needed shoes, they’d need a pair that size (in the middle). in comparison to my size 5 child’s feet on the left… sigh..
kangaroo!! when i saw it i felt that my zoo trip was complete (haha)
ps: we saw many monkeys along the way but i wasn’t that fascinated. maybe it’s because i’ve seen too many monkeys?
the babboon kingdom! it was really huge and there was some chase…
spot the baby baboon on the left!
we headed to one of the zoo’s shows! about animal protection and rainforest conservation!
looking awfully yucky here…
our dear lamley was chosen to be one of the warriors!
it was just when cass was chanting to me “don’t make eye contact!” and none of us did but it appears that even if you do not make eye contact they have a way of sniffing the fear in you.. i guess the warriors are like babies..
now you see his shirt…
now you don’t!
animals climbing! have videos too, up on fb soon!
the show was quite interesting, enjoyed myself very much! otters, ducks, monkeys, birds…
had a group photo after the show.
i *ahem* decided to be brave and tourist-y… and i decided to try hold the snake..
i know i look damn happy here, not sure how i managed to do it.. if you can’t tell, i was shaking and i was so afraid the snake would just snap at me! quickly returned the snake to the man immediately after the photo was taken…
as it was raining during the animal show, we went to the gift shop to wait around while the rain came to a drizzle..
posing with the $800 dog.
we walked to the ‘food place’ and slacked.. wanted to rest for a bit..
we waited for the orang utans but they didn’t appear during their feeding! after about 15mins, we went to splash safari, another animal show by the zoo..
it was an quarium like place and all the seats were already filled so we stood right smack in the front. big sigh because we knew we were gonna get splashed..
dewgong like animals. cute! like a bolster (=
and what’s the show without the amazing sealion!
as kids we were soooooooo into this part of the show at the zoo and i can tell you, it was pretty much the same for me then and now!
was really excited to see all the tricks they could do..
and yes, we did get splashed. in the name of good fun anyway! (= filmed the sea lion too, look out on my fb! haah. we didn’t take any pictures with the sealion because the place was packed, it was super humid, and there were tonnes of annoyingly loud kids..
walked around and we landed at yet another alligator site..
me: omg it’s so huge..
teck: yah man…
me: do you think they eat each other? and the numbers dwindle?
teck: of course lah! how do you think they get to that size?
moving on, we saw the world’s smallest bear..
i beg to difer, mr bean’s bear is tinier! (=
saw a huge tortoise and i wanted to sit on it! not that fascinated though as compared to wild cats(=
i’m not a fan of any reptiles or birds. so i didn’t really… snap photos with them.. both sets of animals freak me out. maybe it’s because they don’t have eyebrows, so you don’t know their facial expression, and can’t tell what they’re thinking..
our next stop was the snake enclosure. and i decided that’s the closest i’m getting to them.. through pictures..
URGHHHHH i’d cry if i were to hold these..
we went to the rainforest kidzworld next!
horse carriage. (= they blindfolded the horse (well, sort of) to prevent the horse form going crazy. must be tough, walking in circles..
cass and i went to explore. by going near the ponies. AHAHAH. we went to the ‘forbidden’ area to snap this picture.
and just when it was my turn.. someone shouted.. oh well..
the closest i could get. haah!
giving a new meaning to “pai ma pi”
the nice lady who shouted at me let me go near the horse after making sure it won’t bite me. heh.!
ULTRA CUTE! (=
headed to ben and jerrys for some ice cream.. and to rest our feet. (=
brownie explosion. fudgey chocolate and cherry garcia
cookie explosion? idk. cookie dough and some monkey banana thing.
after our rest, headed outside again..
the 3 rats..
left rainforest kidzworld and headed out again..
saw llama’s! we were reminded of kuzco and we started singing haha! and jimmy neutron too..
headed to the jaguar’s enclosure.. they were trying to have sex…
but they didn’t in the end! i think they were shy.. we were snapping pictures, i was filming.. hhaaha.. brings me to the next conversation
teck: do you know why they aren’t having sex?
me: yea, his penis is probably too small… can’t get it in.
me: the female’s tail blocking?
teck: no, it’s because they’re insulted. it’s called the ‘doggy’ style and not the ‘pussy’ style that’s why….
and so, we all walked away from the very disappointing and un-stimulating porn show…
were at the cats kingdom. amazing. one of my fav parts of the zoo.
leopard? i can’t tell the diff!!!
sorry it’s speckled and dirty! kinda scary just staring right into my camera right! okay kidding. 😀 i snapped this from the bilboard-like thing. haha!
the lion’s den!!! and us, being us….. we started singing “the lion sleeps tonight”. HAHAHAH inclusive of SFX!!!
really cute, doncha think!
pryed ourselves away and saw…
GGGGIRAFFES! okay big joke here.. the giraffe’s have been sponsored by a milk powder brand… enfagrow/enfamil/similac i don’t know which one! the one which has the giraffe wearing some graduate’s hat…
i was more interested in looking at…
hey mason! (= small world, i know all i have is his butt but i bumped into mason and his cousins!
yet another type of cat i can’t identify..
was a lil disappointed cos i didn’t get to see the yellow striped tigers..
zebras. boring bunch..
and we saw more amazing cats. (=
walked around and saw rhinos…
well.. their butt, to be exact..
we covered pretty much every single animal cage/enclosure/station…
our last stop was…
only 1 though!
inuka the polar bear. (=
he was pacing round and round… didn’t sit, didn’t swim.. just walking.
teck: you know why? maybe he’s going to be a father soon. now delivering ah the baby, that’s why you don’t see the mom or anything…
happily looking at inuka..
walked pass this board which stated that when a polar bear stands it can go up to 3m in height. WOW….
the couple trying to reach it.. barely!
teck’s turn. he has the.. highest chance of reaching it…
quite sure most of you would be interested to know how i fared…
epic fail. reached the 1.5m mark. hiaz!
decided to make use of our tram tickets as we were tired, and we completed the whole ‘zoo tour’.
my legs look uneven but yay for my kid’s size fishermen booties!
looks safari-ish.. it was already 5+pm..
feiwen and teck were busy singing and making up songs along the way. so much fun with them. ❤
view of seletar!
the ah meng statue teck failed to take a picture with.. he was quite sore about it so i took a pic for him while sitting on the tram
most unfortunately, the zoo was closing and we were forced to get off the tram..
walked to the exit and saw the infamous flamingos!
irony. (if you can see the man right in the middle)
we went to the gift shop heh!
glow in the duck. :p (totally rolling w the puns)
when we saw this we were like “BURNING GOO SHIT!!” and then we realised… it’s actually boomer bile! (l4d2 talk right here..)
we then walked to the night safari to take a look as it was about 6.10pm..
bought myself a pretty cute ring!
and that ends the trip to the zoo…
(= enjoyed myself so much more as an adult than as a kid.
equally fascinated with the animals, probably more. enjoyed the company of my friends, making sexual animal jokes.
and the best part? WE DIDN’T HAVE TO HOLD HANDS AND WALK IN TWOS. HAH!!! (a la pri school affair..)
